Neurology has been called by some the "master" of all clinical disciplines. In order to help patients with their problems, neurologists have to learn the anatomy of the brain, spinal cord, muscles and nerves.
The brain controls many other organs in the body and neurological diseases always affect other systems. Dr. Eric A. Awad combines science, art, psychology, good communication and modern technology to reach accurate conclusions and diagnosis for our patients.
Neurologists are not surgeons and our area of interest is not surgery. We work together with neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons as much as we do with primary care physicians and other disciplines in medicine. We assist medical specialists such as rheumatologist, cardiologist and pain/spine physicians in the Atlanta area with comprehensive neurological treatment and evaluations.
NeuroCare Center of Atlanta is equipped with electrophysiology (EMG and EEG), cerebrovascular ultrasound, complete cognitive assessment programs including driving evaluations in addition to a full infusion center that is equipped with the state of art equipment and staff to administer medications intravenously: IVIg, multiple sclerosis monoclonal antibodies, ALS monoclonal antibodies etc.
We welcome patients under the care of other neurologists to use our infusion facility at their request or under their own neurologists' or other specialists' supervision.
